Job Summary
Marketing Internship at Hachette Book Group focused on the Raising Readers initiative. The role includes assisting with newsletter campaigns (copywriting, email building, ideation), digital content creation for paid social campaigns (including filming and editing short and longform content, social media assets), building online stores for ecommerce promotions, monthly digital marketing reporting, and active participation in department meetings. Interns will engage in influencer research and outreach, coordination with booksellers and partners, outreach to potential partners, social media coordination, and participation in educational sessions, networking, and career development. The position is NYC-based with a hybrid schedule (home on Mondays; Midtown NYC office Tuesdays–Thursdays) and requires 21-28 hours per week, with a pay rate of $17 per hour. Minimum three set in-office days per week; opportunities to learn across marketing disciplines and contribute to Raising Readers summer activations.
Required Qualifications
- An interest in marketing with an emphasis on email marketing, digital advertising, and digital asset creation
- Experience producing digital content (e.g., filming and editing social media videos, creating social media graphics)
- Experience with Canva, Capcut, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus
- Experience with email marketing services like Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or other providers is a plus
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under deadlines
- Ability to learn new software programs
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively while maintaining accuracy
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment
