Job Summary
Perform track repairs and rebuilds using power and manual tools, including removing spikes, drilling rail holes, replacing ballast, and installing track fasteners. Operate hand tools such as shovels, picks, axes, and sledgehammers, and utilize electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic equipment like drills, saws, jacks, and grinders. Lift and move rail materials and components as needed, and assist with re-railing derailed railcars. Work Monday through Thursday with flexibility for overtime, adhering to all safety protocols and wearing required PPE. Valid driver's license and TWIC card may be required depending on location.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- legally able to work in the U.S.
- Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
- Wear all required PPE without restriction and pass any required medical exams
- Speak, write, read fluent English
- Regular on-site attendance and punctuality
- Must be flexible to work OT as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Experience is a plus
- May require a valid Driver's License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
- Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus
