Job Summary
Observe and document construction activities for compliance with railroad guidelines and approved submittals. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to address plan deficiencies and initiate actions with the on-site Contractor Safety Officer. Maintain alignment with third-party contractors regarding railroad safety and quality requirements while traveling 90–100% across multiple states. Requires a minimum of five years as an FRA 213 qualified individual, proficiency in GCOR, and a valid driver's license. Full-time role in Houston, Dallas, or Denver with flexible scheduling and all travel costs covered by Olsson.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a railroad FRA 213 qualified individual
- Proficiency in GCOR (General Code of Operating Rules)
- Valid driver's license required
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
- Travel expectations for this position are estimated at 90% - 100%
- Some work may occur over nights and/ or weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate degree in construction management, engineering, or other related field is preferred but not required
- Possessing experience in railroad construction observation or a background in railroad construction observation
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team
- Strong interest in construction processes and operations
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate potential coordination challenges between railroads and their contractors
- Proactive approach to effectively mitigate these issues
