Job Summary
Interpret job work orders and follow blueprints to perform required repairs on railcars, tracks, and heavy equipment. Utilize mechanical skills to weld, cut, and gouge while notifying supervisors of needed materials. Adhere to all safety rules, environmental policies, and quality assurance standards for AAR, ARS, and customers. Maintain a clean work area and wear required PPE. Complete any other assigned duties to ensure task completion. Requires fluent English, valid driver's license or TWIC card depending on location, and regular on-site attendance. 12-hour rotating shifts include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- legally able to work in the U.S.
- Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
- Wear all required PPE without restriction and pass any required medical exams
- Speak, write, read fluent English
- Regular on-site attendance and punctuality
- valid Driver's License
- valid TWIC card
