Job Summary
The Railcar Repairman is responsible for building, rebuilding, repairing, and inspecting railway cars in accordance with AAR, FRA, and company regulations. Duties include ensuring compliance with safety regulations, performing maintenance activities, inspecting and repairing various car components, preparing reports, and operating lifting equipment. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a welding certification, and two years of related work experience. Candidates must be able to lift up to one hundred pounds and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of related work experience
- Ability to lift up to one hundred pounds
- Welding certification
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred
- At least eighteen years of age
Desired Qualifications
- Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
- Four-year journeyman carman preferred
