Job Summary
Interpret job work orders and follow blueprints to perform required repairs on railcars, heavy equipment, and tracks. Utilize mechanical skills to weld, cut, and gouge while notifying supervisors of needed materials. Adhere to all safety rules, maintain clean work areas, and ensure AAR, ARS, and customer quality standards are met. Complete assigned duties as needed to finish tasks. Requires valid driver's license or TWIC card depending on location, fluent English proficiency, and regular on-site attendance. Paid on-the-job training available for those without prior experience.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- legally able to work in the U.S.
- Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
- Wear all required PPE without restriction and pass any required medical exams
- Speak, write, read fluent English
- Regular on-site attendance and punctuality
- valid Driver's License
- valid TWIC card
