Job Summary
Railcar Repair Technician responsible for repairing and maintaining tank cars, conducting inspections for compliance with railcar standards, and ensuring safety and quality in service. The role supports customers, handles related clerical tasks (invoicing, work orders), maintains required certifications, and adheres to AAR rules. Requires strong mechanical aptitude, ability to solve problems, use of hand tools, teamwork, and the ability to work in all weather conditions. Starting pay is $24.08 per hour. Located in Pasadena, TX; in-person work with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Mechanical aptitude, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to use hand tools (pipe wrenches, pry bars, wrenches, ratchets, grinding weld slag/spatter)
- Must be able to perform basic railcar repairs and inspections
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to work safely and follow procedures in all weather
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
- Must pass company physical exam, drug screening and background check
- Familiarity with customer relations and ability to work as part of a team
