Job Summary
Perform railcar repairs and inspections per FRA and AAR rules; use mechanical skills to safely inspect/repair railcars and tank cars; operate hand and power tools and welding equipment; follow safety protocols and quality processes; work in outdoor year-round conditions; capable of reading blueprints and work orders; capable of basic math and reporting; requires physical endurance and the ability to work in a team.
Required Qualifications
- High-school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience as Carman or Railcar Repair Technician desirable
- Must be able to read and interpret documents
- Must possess basic mechanical knowledge and experience with tools
- Must enjoy outdoor, physical, hands-on work
- Certified E7018 welder preferred
