Job Summary
Interpret job work orders and follow blueprints to perform required repairs on railcars, weld, cut, and gouge using basic mechanical skills. Notify supervisors of any materials or equipment needed to ensure task completion. Adhere to all safety rules, maintain a clean work area, and comply with ARS Environmental Health and Safety Policies while meeting AAR, ARS, and customer quality assurance standards. Complete any other duties as assigned. Valid Driver's License or TWIC card may be required depending on location. Regular on-site attendance and punctuality are required. Some weekends are required in addition to Monday through Friday day shifts.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- legally able to work in the U.S.
- Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
- Wear all required PPE without restriction and pass any required medical exams
- Speak, write, read fluent English
- Regular on-site attendance and punctuality
- valid Driver's License
- valid TWIC card
