Job Summary
Conduct thorough visual inspections of railcars to ensure mechanical soundness and identify defects before loading or unloading. Prepare railcars by opening manways and installing appropriate loading arms or hoses, then load specific products using manifests while accurately measuring and recording volumes and temperatures. Secure railcars for shipping according to Transportation of Dangerous Goods standards and complete accurate documentation including checklists and manifests. Work collaboratively in team settings at ground level and on elevated racks, adhering to behavioral-based safety systems to achieve zero-loss goals. Perform duties in various weather conditions and rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. High school diploma required with 0-1 years of experience; valid driver's license may be needed. Previous petroleum refinery experience is a strong asset.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0-1 years of relevant work experience or equivalent education
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing, driver's abstract, and criminal background checks
- Physical fitness to perform loading and unloading tasks and work outdoors for entire shifts
- Strong attention to detail for conducting inspections and maintaining accurate records
- Basic math skills for measuring and recording product volumes
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work rotating on-call shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Commitment to following safety protocols and regulations
- Comfortable working at heights on railcar loading racks
- Valid driver's license
