Job Summary
Drain liquid and solid product heels from railcars using confined space tank entry, then clean tanks and refill boiler units with water or cleaning solutions. Add chemicals to maintain solution levels, measure and mix cleaning agents, and calibrate gas meters to ensure proper concentrations. Operate and tend the boiler unit to wash inbound railcars, removing impurities before repairs or relining. Monitor gauges and thermometers, adjust controls for temperature and cycle length, and start pumps, generators, and boiler machines. Inspect equipment for malfunctions, troubleshoot issues, and adjust or clean hoses and pumps using hand tools. Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and federal waste disposal laws while completing assigned duties. Valid driver's license or TWIC card may be required.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
- Regular on-site attendance and punctuality
- Speak, write, read fluent English
Desired Qualifications
- Experience is a plus but not required, and paid on-the-job training is available
- May require a valid Driver's License and / or a valid TWIC card, depending on work location
- Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus
