Job Summary
CDL-A Equipment Operators/Laborers for rail derailment response and track operations. Safely transport equipment and materials to job sites, operate heavy equipment when qualified, assist with rerailing, railroad car maintenance and repair, load adjustments/transfers, and track maintenance/construction. Includes inspections of trucks/ trailers, load securement, and compliance with permits for oversized/overweight loads; participate in daily safety meetings; support various rail-field activities; operate and assist with crane setup, rigging, and other heavy equipment (excavators, backhoes, cranes, grapple/dump trucks, skid steers). Emphasis on safety, equipment maintenance, and teamwork; includes per diem, hotel accommodations during overnight travel, and overtime opportunities; 40 hours guaranteed plus overtime, with on-call requirements and potential weekend/holiday work.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Good driving history and ability to meet company driving standards
- Experience in construction, industrial labor, transportation, or other physically demanding work environments
- Ability to successfully complete required qualification, safety, and training programs
- Availability to respond to emergency service requests 24/7, including nights, weekends, and holidays
