Job Summary
Dispatcher role overseeing safe and efficient movement of Light Rail Vehicles from the Operations Control Center. Responsibilities include monitoring SCADA/CCS systems, dispatching train movements, coordinating with multiple departments (Rail Operations, Maintenance, MOW, security, contractors), handling incidents and emergencies, establishing routes and power commands, and ensuring compliance with procedures and safety standards. Requires strong communication, ability to interpret safety rules and technical instructions, proficiency with SCADA, CCTV, radios, and related technologies, and willingness to complete required PLTO training and recertifications. Shifts include nights, weekends, holidays, and multiple locations; must pass background checks and possess a valid driver’s license. Knowledge of FTA programs and policies preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school training or certifications preferred
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in rail, transportation, or related operational environment preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; may substitute for two (2) years of relevant work experience
