Job Summary
Perform routine and moderately complex diagnostic radiographic procedures, including temporomandibular joint studies and special localization films for foreign bodies in the eye, hand, and foot. Execute required eye films to locate glass, shrapnel, and other objects. Manage patient workflow by printing radiology worksheets, updating electronic medical records, and transferring scans to PACS for radiologist review. Conduct quality control assessments and approve scans prior to patient release. Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the government supervisor to maintain proper working conditions. Work Sunday through Saturday in 8.5-hour shifts from 2200 to 0730 with occasional holidays and no call.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)
- One year of experience as a Radiology / X-Ray Tech
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Must be able to pass a Government background check and obtain a Government security clearance
- Knowledge of moderately complex radiographic procedures of the eye, skull, hand, foot, and facial features
- Knowledge of radiographic equipment
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Knowledge of radiation protection agency standards
