Radiology Veterinary Assistant

Job Summary

Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures, including CT and ultrasound preparation, while safely restraining patients using low-stress handling techniques. Perform diagnostic CT scans under the guidance of contracted radiologists and coordinate daily schedules for all imaging modalities to maximize efficiency. Communicate with clients regarding appointments and procedures, retrieve medical records, and troubleshoot common equipment issues alongside the Radiology Lead Technician. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and inventory throughout radiology areas while ensuring supplies are stocked and safety standards are met. Participate in department meetings, training initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts to support seamless workflow across specialty departments.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous Veterinary Assistant experience
  • Veterinary Assistant Certification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent client service and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer proficiency and typing skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Comfortable learning advanced diagnostic imaging equipment and technology
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple departments and team members
  • Positive attitude with a collaborative, team-first mindset
  • Professional, approachable, and dependable

  • Ability to lift and carry patients or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to work in a veterinary hospital environment with exposure to animal odors, noise, radiation safety protocols, and bodily fluids
