Job Summary
Explain procedures to patients, transport them to clinical areas, and position them for plain films, fluoro, portables, OR exams, and bone density scans. Administer contrast media and medications within scope, monitor protocols, and ensure high-quality image submission to PACS with correct markers and data. Maintain a clean department, verify patient identity, and follow radiation safety guidelines to prevent unnecessary exposure. Report equipment malfunctions, lock/tag out devices as appropriate, and perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT technologist is unavailable. Maintain constant alertness and safe manner during all duties.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Radiology program
- ARRT-R within 6 months of hire date
- ARRT-R Radiography
- ARRT-BD Bone Density
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Radiologic Technologists - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)
- Radiologic Technologists – Temporary Accreditation - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)
- Radiographer, Licensed - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
