Job Summary
Perform diagnostic imaging exams on patients using specialized equipment while ensuring proper identification, order verification, and adherence to radiation safety guidelines. Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, then complete studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care. Provide patient education, maintain infection control protocols, and assist students or other technologists in exam protocols and positioning. Operate equipment and information systems to ensure high-quality imaging results while keeping accurate records of procedures and adverse reactions. Shifts are Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. This role supports the diagnostic imaging team at St. George Regional Hospital, where you will collaborate closely with radiologists and physicians to deliver exceptional care.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT certification
- Radiologic technologist license in state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions
- Proper patient identification, order verification, and preparation for exam
- Exams performed per department protocol with review for quality, clarity, and accuracy
- Adherence to radiation safety guidelines
- Completion of studies within acceptable time limits
- Assistance and instruction of students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment
- Appropriate patient education, comfort, and concern addressing
- Appropriate infection control and sterile techniques
- Understanding and operation of equipment and related information systems
- Accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and adverse reactions
- Protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures

- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment including heavy items
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining/distributing supplies
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Monday-Friday schedule from 8am-5pm
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years radiology experience
- IV Certification
