Job Summary

Position patients and adjust equipment for diagnostic x-rays following established procedures, instructing patients on required steps. Select radiation exposure settings, develop and process films, and examine results for quality. Maintain examination rooms, stock supplies, and keep accurate records while ensuring patient confidentiality. Troubleshoot equipment, manage interactions with patients and staff, and adhere to safety standards. Work Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM at Salmon Medical Center in Silverdale.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited Radiology program
  • National registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) R - Radiology
  • Washington State registration in Radiology
  • CPR certification for Health Care Providers
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in Radiology
  • Ability to properly position patients to provide quality imaging
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment operation and perform simple adjustments
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management and peers
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to manage interactions with difficult people
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint area for radiography
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment and testing
  • Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics, and patient movement
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language in person, by phone and in writing
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance
  • Adequate hearing to perform job duties in person and over the telephone
  • Ability to communicate clearly to patients and coworkers in person and over the telephone
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens, and including visual examination of patients
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing less than 10 pounds including assisting patients
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds in surgeries when required
