Radiology Technologist - Orthopedics

Job Summary
Obtain patient clinical history and lab work, position and immobilize patients for optimal imaging, and apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure. Operate radiographic equipment and accessories to perform diagnostic procedures, verify informed consent, and document pre- and post-procedure details. Administer medications and contrast as prescribed, evaluate images for technical quality, and document patient dose exposures while professionally interacting with physicians, staff, and patients. Perform timeouts as required and assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures using aseptic surgical techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Diagnostic Radiology
- BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association
- State Licensure
- 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care
- Experience with Radiology Information System
- Manual dexterity (eye/hand coordination)
- Perform shift work

Desired Qualifications
- Associate's from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute
- State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Picture archiving communication system (PACS)
- BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
- Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred)
- 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred)
