Radiology Technologist - Orthopedics - Primary Care

Job Summary
Obtain patient clinical history and lab work, position and immobilize patients for optimal imaging, and apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure. Operate radiographic equipment and accessories to perform diagnostic procedures while verifying informed consent and completing pre- and post-procedure documentation. Administer medications or contrast as prescribed, evaluate images for technical quality, and document patient dose exposures. Assist licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures, including timeouts and aseptic surgical techniques when needed. Professionally interact with physicians, staff, and patients while maintaining accurate records in the electronic health record.
Required Qualifications
- Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Diagnostic Radiology
- State Licensure
- BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association
- 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care
- Experience with Radiology Information System
- Manual dexterity (eye/hand coordination)
- Perform shift work

Desired Qualifications
- Associate's from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute
- State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Picture archiving communiation system (PACS)
- BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
- Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred)
- 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care (preferred)
