Job Summary
Operate radiographic and CT equipment to provide clinically diagnostic images per physician orders, initiating immediate interventions when exams require urgent attention. Review exam indications, report inappropriate orders to supervisors, and provide accurate exam data for radiologist interpretation. Utilize PACS, RIS, HIS, and EMR systems for clerical duties, archive image data, and retrieve stored images for presentation or backup. Maintain department policies, infection control standards, and safety protocols while mentoring students and assisting with clinical rotations. Ensure compliance with CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, and ACR guidelines. Requires ARRT certification within 60 days and an associate degree in radiologic technology.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or certificate of completion from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- ARRT Certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- two or more additional radiology certifications beyond this registration
- visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- ability to communicate effectively with others
- ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
- ability to work the hours specified
- ability to perform each essential job function satisfactorily
