Job Summary
Operate MRI and CT equipment to generate clinical diagnostic images as directed by physicians, preparing patients, adjusting settings, and administering IV contrast media when competent. Perform procedures accurately and efficiently while coordinating daily schedules, reviewing exam indications, and initiating immediate interventions for critical cases. Provide detailed reports to management, maintain patient and equipment records for quality assurance and accreditation, and consult with radiologists on specialized protocols. Assist with staff and student training, orientation, and clinical rotations. Utilize PACS, RIS, and EMR systems to archive image data and retrieve stored images for radiologist interpretation. Work rotating day and evening shifts including 10-hour blocks from 6AM-4:30PM, 7AM-5:30PM, and 11:30AM-8PM.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or equivalent from a 2 year college or technical school or hospital-based Radiologic Technology Program
- Radiography (R) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire
- Less than 1 year Thorough knowledge of radiologic and MRI terminology, practices and procedures, physiology and human anatomy
- Associate's or a certificate of completion from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
- ARRT Certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 60 Days
- Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with others
- Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and other sounds
- Ability to work the hours specified
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years Training/experience in MRI
