Job Summary
Perform patient triage, venipuncture, and laboratory testing while acquiring and transmitting X-ray diagnostic images under physician supervision. Transport patients to radiographic rooms, prepare equipment for sterilization, and manage patient flow during variable volumes. Administer oral medications and injections limited to intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular routes after demonstrating competency. Provide telephone triage, patient follow-up calls, and perform multifunctional skills including spirometry, vitals, EKGs, and various clinical tests. Maintain individual credentials, complete annual reporting for protective devices, and participate in multi-disciplinary quality improvement teams.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved R.T. Program
- Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting
- 1-2 years 2+ years of medical office experience
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- American Board of Radiology - ABR Radiology Technologist license in the State of Maryland
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Completion of an approved M.A. program
- Experience working with electronic medical records
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)-American Medical Technologists
- Clinical competency as verified during the initial 90 day orientation period and annually thereafter
- Excellent customer service/patient interaction skills
