Job Summary
Perform patient intake, venipuncture, and laboratory testing while administering oral, IM, SC, or intradermal medications under physician supervision. Conduct diagnostic imaging including X-rays, spirometry, EKGs, and vision/hearing tests, then transmit images to radiologists for overreads. Maintain x-ray equipment, sterilize supplies, and manage patient flow by communicating with families and performing patient escort duties. Document care in the electronic health record, follow up on lab results, and adhere to safety, infection control, and compliance standards. Requires ARRT certification, Maryland/Virginia/DC license, BLS, and an associate degree from an approved RT program.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree
- Completion of an approved R.T. program
- Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) Certification
- Maryland, Virginia, or DC State License
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of medical office experience preferred
