Job Summary
Perform x-ray diagnostic imaging in accordance with medical provider orders, evaluating technical quality and transmitting images for interpretation. Transport patients to radiographic rooms, prepare equipment, and maintain cleanliness while managing patient flow and providing telephone triage services. Administer oral medications and injections under physician supervision, perform venipuncture, urinalysis, and other multifunctional tests including spirometry and EKGs. Document evaluation results, treatment plans, and progress reports in the medical record. Maintain individual credentials, comply with accreditation regulations, and participate in multi-disciplinary quality improvement teams.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved R.T. Program
- Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting
- 1-2 years 2+ years of medical office experience
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- American Board of Radiology - ABR Radiology Technologist license in the State of Maryland
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Completion of an approved M.A. program
- Experience working with electronic medical records
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)-American Medical Technologists
