Job Summary
Conduct clinical and administrative duties consistent with MedStar Health policies, including performing venipuncture, administering oral medications, and transmitting X-ray diagnostic images. Manage patient flow through patient intake, escorting patients throughout the care process, and initiating care pathways in accordance with provider orders. Perform additional testing such as spirometry, vitals, and EKGs while maintaining equipment and adhering to safety and infection control standards. Complete scheduled training on compliance, safety, and the electronic health record.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Completion of an approved R.T. program
- Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting
- 1-2 years 2 years of medical office experience
- ARRT ARRT Certification
- Maryland Virginia or DC State License-Certified Medical Radiation
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days
- Clinical competency as verified during the initial 90 day orientation period and annually thereafter
- Excellent customer service/ patient interaction skills
- Computer & Electronic Medical Record skills and ability to function in a variable clinical setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years 2 years of medical office experience preferred
- One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education
