Job Summary
Perform x-ray diagnostic imaging, evaluate technical quality, and transmit images for interpretation while managing patient flow and triage. Transport patients to radiographic rooms, prepare and sterilize equipment, and administer oral medications and injections under physician supervision. Conduct multifunctional testing including spirometry, vitals, EKGs, and venipuncture, and document results in the medical record. Maintain individual credentials, comply with accreditation regulations, and participate in quality improvement teams. This role supports optimal patient experience standards at MedStar Ambulatory Services.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an approved R.T. Program
- Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting
- 1-2 years 2+ years of medical office experience
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- American Board of Radiology - ABR Radiology Technologist license in the State of Maryland
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Completion of an approved M.A. program
- Experience working with electronic medical records
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)-American Medical Technologists
