Job Summary
Perform patient intake, venipuncture, and laboratory testing while administering oral, IM, SC, or intradermal medications under provider orders. Conduct diagnostic imaging including X-rays, spirometry, EKGs, and vision/hearing tests, maintaining equipment and forwarding images for over-reads. Manage patient flow through the urgent care setting, escorting patients to discharge, and conducting follow-up calls for clinical results. Clean and sterilize equipment, prepare patient rooms, and utilize the electronic health record to document care. Adhere to MedStar Health policies, infection control standards, and safety protocols while participating in quality improvement teams.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- Completion of an approved R.T. program
- Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting
- ARRT ARRT Certification
- Maryland Virginia or DC State License-Certified Medical Radiation
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days
- Clinical competency as verified during the initial 90 day orientation period and annually thereafter
- Excellent customer service/ patient interaction skills
- Computer & Electronic Medical Record skills and ability to function in a variable clinical setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years 2 years of medical office experience preferred
- One year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education
