Job Summary
Perform diagnostic imaging exams on patients using specialized equipment while ensuring proper identification, order verification, and patient preparation. Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, adhering to radiation safety guidelines and department protocols. Maintain ARRT or modality-specific competency, assist and instruct students on exam protocols, and provide appropriate patient education and comfort. Operate equipment and information systems to ensure quality images, keep accurate records of procedures, and follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, and equipment failure reporting. Complete studies within acceptable time limits without compromising care.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT certification
- Radiologic technologist license in state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions
