Job Summary
Perform diagnostic imaging exams on patients using specialized equipment while ensuring proper identification, order verification, and patient preparation. Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, adhering to radiation safety guidelines and department protocols. Assist and instruct students on exam protocols, positioning, and equipment operation, while providing patient education and maintaining infection control standards. Complete studies within acceptable time limits and keep accurate records of procedures and adverse reactions. Operate equipment and information systems to ensure high-quality images, following protocols for medical necessity, coding, and equipment failure reporting.

- Assisting and instructing students and other Radiology Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment
- Appropriate patient education, ensuring patient comfort, and addressing concerns
- Appropriate infection control and sterile techniques
- Understanding and operating equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images
- Accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions
- Protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors requiring verbal communication and understanding of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment including heavy items
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Ability to navigate crowded and busy rooms with equipment and power cords on the floor
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years radiology experience
- IV Certification
