Job Summary
Perform diagnostic imaging exams on patients using specialized equipment while ensuring proper identification, order verification, and patient preparation. Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, adhering to radiation safety guidelines and department protocols. Operate equipment and information systems to complete studies within acceptable time limits, maintaining accurate records of procedures and adverse reactions. Provide patient education, ensure comfort, and assist students or other techs with positioning and protocols. Follow infection control standards and coding requirements, reporting equipment failures as needed. Maintain ARRT certification, BLS, and state licensure to deliver high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT certification
- Radiologic technologist license in state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions
