Job Summary
Operate radiographic equipment and CT scanners to produce diagnostic images under physician protocol, positioning patients and administering IV/oral contrast while monitoring for reactions. Apply ALARA radiation safety principles using beam restriction and shielding to protect patients and staff. Prepare patients for exams, manage IV placements, and complete required documentation and paperwork. Assist with equipment maintenance, cleaning, and QA procedures while troubleshooting minor equipment issues. Communicate procedure benefits and risks to patients, ensure proper body mechanics during patient transport, and maintain awareness of departmental policies and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology
- At least 1 years of radiologic/imaging experience and CT experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Current State licensure
- Current BCLS Certification
- ARRT (R) (CT)
- TDH/TMB
