Job Summary
Operate radiographic and CT scan equipment to produce diagnostic images as directed by the ER Physician and Radiologist, ensuring patient positioning and adherence to ALARA radiation safety principles. Administer and consent for IV and oral contrast while monitoring for reactions, and prepare patients for exams by managing IV placements and verifying lab results. Maintain equipment through cleaning and QA procedures, troubleshoot minor issues, and document all procedures accurately in patient charts. Provide safe patient transportation and explain procedure benefits and risks to patients. Work night shifts in the Emergency Room, maintaining awareness of departmental policies and communicating concerns to appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited approved school of Radiologic Technology
- At least 1 years of radiologic/imaging experience and CT experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situation
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Current State licensure
- Current BCLS Certification
- ARRT (R) (CT)
- TDH/TMB
