Job Summary
Obtains patient clinical history and lab work, then positions and immobilizes patients to demonstrate anatomic areas of interest while applying radiation protection principles. Operates imaging equipment to perform diagnostic radiography and fluoroscopic procedures, verifying informed consent and administering medications or contrast as prescribed. Evaluates images for technical quality, documents patient dose exposures, and professionally interacts with physicians, staff, and patients. Performs timeouts and applies aseptic surgical techniques as required.
Required Qualifications
- Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- State Licensure
- BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
- 1 year experience in radiation safety and patient care
- Experience with Radiology Information System (RIS)
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute
- State Licensure (unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
- BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (at hire)
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Picture archiving communication system (PACS)
