Job Summary
Perform a variety of diagnostic radiographic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation to produce high-quality images for physician interpretation. Exercise independent judgment in selecting appropriate equipment, positioning techniques, and exposure factors to ensure optimal image quality. Assess patients' conditions and respond appropriately to assist in emergency situations, while delivering age-appropriate care considering developmental, physical, and emotional needs. Assist physicians during fluoroscopic procedures while maintaining sterile technique and prevent cross-contamination. Perform radiographic examinations throughout the hospital, including the Operating Room, Emergency Department, inpatient units, outpatient services, portable imaging, and Electrophysiology Lab. Ensure accurate patient identification and proper documentation of imaging studies, adhering to all hospital policies, departmental procedures, radiation safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program
- Current ARRT certification
- Current New York State Department of Health Radiologic Technologist license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association only accepted
- Strong knowledge of radiographic positioning, anatomy, radiation safety, and imaging techniques
- Excellent communication, organizational, and patient care skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
