Job Summary
Perform all required procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, operating specialized X-Ray, fluoroscopy, and intravascular ultrasound equipment. Assist physicians in interventions including stent placements, balloon angioplasties, and Impella insertion while monitoring hemodynamics and interpreting waveforms. Introduce catheters into vessels, position and inflate balloons, manage arterial and venous access, and document all procedures in clinical systems. Maintain equipment integrity, troubleshoot devices, and ensure radiation safety compliance. Full-time, 40-hour schedule with weekday and weekend call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology Program
- BLS
- ACLS
- Current RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist), ARRT (C1), or equivalent certification or achieved within 2 years of employment
- Minimum of 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab or interventional experience
- Proficiency in advanced hemodynamics, device management, and coronary interventions
- Prior experience assisting in high-acuity interventions (IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz)
- Strong knowledge of coronary anatomy, interventional devices, and procedural techniques
- Ability to anticipate physician needs and respond quickly in critical situations
- Excellent communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills
- High level of technical competency with imaging systems, intraprocedural monitoring and arterial and venous access management
- Flexibility with varied start times
- Weekday and Weekend call rotation
- Must complete a background check
- Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu, as well as receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine
