Job Summary
Operate conventional, fluoroscopic, and portable radiology equipment to obtain routine radiographs of designated body areas according to physician specifications. Prepare patients for exams by positioning them on examination tables, adjusting immobilization devices, and affixing radiation shielding. Assist in administering drugs and contrast agents, calculate technical factors, and process and develop film. Enter data into the Radiology Information System for medical records, billing, and quality assurance, while providing guidance to radiology students. Maintain clean work areas, ensure proper supplies are stocked, and perform clerical tasks such as answering phones and scheduling exams. Report equipment malfunctions to supervisory personnel. This role is available at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and Urgent Care locations throughout DC/VA.
Required Qualifications
- ARRT required at time of hire for Urgent Care Positions
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) certification is mandatory within 90 days for Washington Hospital Center
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in applied science preferred
