Job Summary
Radiology Technician responsible for performing routine diagnostic radiographic procedures, explaining and preparing patients for procedures, reviewing clinical data to identify contraindications, properly and safely positioning patients for maximum diagnostic yield, using radiation protection and shielding, operating complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department per ALARA standards, maintaining radiographic equipment and x-ray rooms, reporting malfunctions, following exposure control plans for bloodborne and airborne pathogens, and entering data into PACS for insurance processing; may be asked to perform other duties as assigned; travel between satellite locations may be required; strong technical skills, knowledge of anatomy and physiology, aseptic techniques, and ability to troubleshoot equipment are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Current certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Current state permit/license as a general diagnostic radiographer
- CPR Certification
- Graduate of an approved radiological program
