Job Summary
Radiology Technician PRN performs fluoroscopic procedures and imaging for patients of all ages in the outpatient surgery department, handling imaging patient care, file room duties, and related clerical tasks. Responsibilities include positioning patients, shielding to protect from radiation, operating stationary or portable radiologic machines, producing radiographs, developing films, assisting in fluoroscopic work, maintaining equipment and quarters, and monitoring patients. Requires knowledge of radiologic equipment and techniques, anatomy, safety precautions, and ability to communicate, document, and work in a fast-paced environment. Education and licensure include a Florida-certified Radiologic Technologist credential, high school diploma or equivalent, and two years of experience or an AMA-approved radiologic technology program.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or the equivalent
- Current valid Florida certificate as a certified Radiologic Technologist in diagnostic radiologic technology
- Two years of experience in radiologic techniques and methods under an accredited radiologist OR a two-year radiologic technology program approved by AMA/ACR
- Knowledge of modern radiologic equipment and techniques; anatomy; safety precautions; ability to communicate effectively; ability to keep records and reports
