Job Summary
Conduct diagnostic imaging by performing plain films, fluoro, portables, and OR exams, including Bone Density if registered. Explain procedures to patients, transport them to clinical areas, and verify identity while positioning for exams. Administer contrast media and medications within scope, monitor protocols, and ensure high-quality image submission to PACS. Maintain equipment functionality, follow radiation safety guidelines, and keep the department clean and orderly. Perform limited CT procedures in emergent situations when a CT Technologist is unavailable. Work weekend shifts in a constant state of alertness, lifting patients and objects up to 50 lbs. Requires a Radiology Technology program completion, BLS certification, and state-specific radiography licensure or temporary accreditation.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Radiology Technology program
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Radiologic Technologists - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)
- Radiologic Technologists – Temporary Accreditation - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA)
- ARRT-R Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- ARRT-BD Bone Density - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Radiographer, Licensed - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
