Job Summary
Perform a variety of imaging examinations including X-rays, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs while ensuring image quality meets department standards. Greet patients, visitors, and staff courteously, verify identification, and maintain a professional atmosphere. Accurately complete documentation for exams, billing, and film labeling, and participate in inservice education to maintain clinical competency. Assist medical staff in procedures following sterile technique and infection control guidelines. Evaluate work volume to prioritize urgent cases and respond effectively to emergency situations. Complete required safety and unit-specific training.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Radiographer: CA
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR
- Registered Technologist Radiography (ARRT)
- Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech: CA
- Competence in a combination of 2 of the following: MRI, Mammography, CT, IR
- One advanced Certification must be CT
- Satisfactorily completed a formal radiologic technology training program accredited through the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) and the California Department of Public Health, Radiation Health Branch (CDPH-RHB)
- 4 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist working in and proficient in 1 advanced modality or 3 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist and working and proficient in 2 advanced modalities, one of which must be CT or Mammography
- Completion of annual safety training
- Completes and maintains required unit specific training
