Job Summary
Produce x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist, ensuring clear and undistorted films. Position and instruct patients regarding x-ray procedures and perform x-ray procedures using portable machines as requested by the Emergency Department and nursing units. Process films for radiologists reading and interpretation following established procedures. Communicate with patients, families, healthcare team members, and physicians both in-person and via telephone. Maintain x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order, ensuring preventative maintenance is performed on a regularly scheduled basis and contacting outside service for major malfunctions according to established guidelines. Promote effective working relations and work effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate that departments/units ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and the ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Current license/certification in the state of practice
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
- Weekend Shift
- Friday - Sunday 5am-5:30pm
Desired Qualifications
- At least one (1) year of diagnostic radiology experience
