Radiology Tech Assistant – LPN/CNA/MA, 40 hours, Days, Diagnostic Imaging

Job Summary

Provide initial patient triage, registration, and intake services while assisting radiologic technologists with patient positioning and preparation for imaging procedures. Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, check in patients, obtain histories, take vital signs, and perform sterile dressing changes under established protocols. Coordinate patient flow, schedule appointments, transport patients, and maintain medical supplies and equipment. Complete necessary forms, requisitions, and communications to implement orders.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current CPR training
  • Prior computer experience
  • Must be proficient in Reasoning, Math, Reading, Writing, and Speaking
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct and control the flow of communication and tasks within the job duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision and with time limitations
  • Ability to perform detailed assignments, work accurately, follow directions and assess priorities
  • Good physical and mental health, able to assist with heavy lifting and capable of working under pressure
  • Ability to learn procedures and techniques involved in administrating basic patient care
  • Possess good communication skills and ability to deal with patients, their families and visitors with patience and tact
  • Current LPN license in Connecticut (for LPN role)
  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing (for LPN role)
  • Must be available for weekends (implied by 'Weekends: As needed' and 'Rotates throughout the diagnostic imaging department')

Desired Qualifications

  • Successful completion of CMA or CNA Program
  • Completion of a Medical Terminology course
  • One to three years' experience in clinical position
  • One to three years' experience as a nursing or medical assistant or in a related field
  • Previous experience in a hospital environment
