Job Summary
Manage the weekend radiology department by performing multi-modality imaging studies while coordinating staffing, department procedures, and physician requests. Ensure patient safety and accuracy by verifying identification and orders, administering proper radiation protection, and addressing urgent or emergency situations with appropriate judgment. Lead the team by fostering collaboration, maintaining patient dignity during transport and exams, and communicating quality improvement opportunities to the Director. Requires BLS certification within 90 days and supervisory experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Accreditation through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Compliance with CE Requirements
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to physically manipulate and operate equipment
- Ability to assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs and stretchers to table
- Ability to bend, twist, and stoop
- Ability to lift 20 pounds
- Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to make appropriate judgment decisions in urgent or emergency situations
- Demonstration of emotional stability and psychological health in day to day interaction with fellow employees, patients, their families, and physicians
- Possession of general knowledge of x-ray equipment
- Possession of general knowledge of other modalities
- Possession of general knowledge of computers
- Knowledge of radiation safety
- Knowledge of MRI safety
- Knowledge of universal precautions
- Ability to perform multifunctional tasks
Desired Qualifications
- Multi-modality experience (i.e. X-ray and CT, Ultrasound, MRI)
- Supervisor experience in a hospital that provides all imaging modalities
- Experience managing Imaging department on weekends
- Experience coordinating staffing
- Experience with department procedures
- Experience with physician requests in multiple modalities
