Job Summary
Manage the weekend radiology department by performing multi-modality imaging studies while coordinating staffing, procedures, and physician requests. Conduct daily patient checks to ensure proper coverage, comfort, and dignity during exams and transport. Verify patient identification and physician orders, screen female patients for pregnancy, and provide radiation safety protection following ALARA principles. Lead the team in difficult situations, foster a collaborative environment, and communicate potential improvements to the Director. Maintain high-quality study performance and adhere to all safety protocols for patients and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology
- Accreditation through The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
- Compliance with CE Requirements
- BLS certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to physically manipulate and operate equipment
- Ability to assist in the movement of patients from wheelchairs and stretchers to table
- Ability to bend, twist, and stoop
- Ability to lift 20 pounds
- Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to make appropriate judgment decisions in urgent or emergency situations
- Demonstration of emotional stability and psychological health in day to day interaction with fellow employees, patients, their families, and physicians
- Ability to perform multifunctional tasks
Desired Qualifications
- Multi-modality experience (i.e. X-ray and CT, Ultrasound, MRI)
- Supervisor experience in a hospital that provides all imaging modalities
- Experience managing Imaging department on weekends
- Experience coordinating staffing
- Experience with department procedures
- Experience with physician requests in multiple modalities
