Job Summary
Monitor and care for patients during transport to and from radiology, during wait times, and while exams are performed, ensuring quality patient care before, during, and after radiologic procedures. Provide medications for exams requiring administration and assess both inpatients and outpatients for contrast reactions and extravasations. Manage patients with pacemakers undergoing MRI and maintain a working relationship with radiologists to ensure care standards are met. Supervise assigned personnel and facilitate hand-off communication at the time of transport and upon patient delivery back to primary care.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions or compact state licensure in nursing
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Vascular Access experience
- Five years of healthcare/medical - nursing/patient care experience
- Five years of experience in a critical care setting
