Job Summary
Under supervision, performs diagnostic radiology procedures and imaging to obtain diagnostic-quality radiographs. Provides personalized patient care, adheres to patient-care quality standards across age ranges, and follows Mercy’s mission and values. Responsibilities include manipulating exposure factors and radiology equipment, ensuring safety and quality of images, and assisting in a fast-paced imaging department. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and enrollment in the second year of an accredited Radiologic Technology program, plus BLS certification, basic computer skills, and effective English communication. Lifting/moving patients and physical stamina are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Currently enrolled in second year of a nationally accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to manipulate radiology equipment including mobile and other equipment
- Ability to lift, move and transport patients
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods
- Ability to recognize emergency situations
- Willingness to adapt to fast-paced daily workload
