Radiology Front Desk Scheduler Float

Job Summary

Obtain accurate patient information, perform insurance verification, and schedule radiology procedures efficiently. Check in and check out patients, file and maintain medical records, and manage work queues for pending referrals and appointments. Answer incoming and outgoing calls promptly, confirm appointments, and perform follow-up services such as scheduling specialist visits and obtaining lab results. Cross-train and assist in other office locations as needed while adhering to HIPAA, OSHA, and Optum policies. Maintain precision in scanning documents and monitoring fax servers. Work a 40-hour week between 6:00 am and 8:00 pm with rotating Saturdays from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Requires 100% travel to multiple office sites.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of computer proficiency experience (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • 1+ years of customer service or healthcare related experience
  • Ability to travel to other offices 100 % of the time to the office below and have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Ability to work 40 hours week between the hours of 6:00 am to 8:00 pm and rotating Saturdays from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others
  • Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with an electronic health record (EPIC)
  • Knowledge of Radiology
  • Knowledge of Medical terms
  • Experience working with scheduling programs
  • 1+ years of experience working in medical front office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records
