Job Summary
Assist Radiology Technologists in performing radiographic procedures by holding patients, preparing exam rooms, and positioning patients using necessary devices. Operate radiographic, fluoroscopic, and portable equipment while producing high-quality images that adhere to ALARA principles. Perform general support duties including answering telephones, obtaining verbal orders, relaying messages, phoning results, and preparing images or reports. Transport patients to and from the Radiology department and assist during fluoroscopy and other patient examinations. Requires current BLS/CPR certification, a high school diploma or radiologic technology degree, and sound knowledge in radiograph production. Works rotating shifts under direct supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be a current student in second year, or graduate of a formal program in Radiologic Technology in an AMA approved school
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Sound knowledge in the production of radiographs
- Analytical skills necessary in maintaining Radiology records
- Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact well with patients and other hospital personnel
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
