Job Summary
Transport patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items to their destinations while maintaining inventory levels of supplies to prevent loss or expiration. Clean assigned work areas and related equipment, assist staff in preparing patients and rooms for procedures, and collect soiled laundry to ensure sanitation standards. Respond promptly to patient and family requests, provide accurate information, and act as a positive role model adhering to hospital policies and regulatory standards. Requires American Heart Association BLS certification during orientation and physical ability for prolonged walking, standing, and transferring patients.
Required Qualifications
- HIGH SCHOOL OR GED
- Must obtain the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification during department orientation if not certified prior to hire
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Service/Quality focused to meet a wide range of needs
- Able to navigate to/from various locations throughout the facility
- Problem solver that can think quickly in cases of emergencies or unusual situations
- Able to multi-task and work at a fast pace
- Displays neat, professional appearance with a smile
- Physical ability to withstand frequent to prolonged walking, standing, pushing, pulling, and transferring patients
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred previous patient care
